Nowhere 1997
Araki continues to direct and write some of the most abstract films you’ll ever see. Absolutely LOVED the set and costume designs, as well as the music choices. Very strange and weird yet oddly attractive, atmospheric, and captivating. There’s some great shots scattered in the film too. I wish the film was longer so that the characters could’ve been explored more, but they were pretty interesting from what was shown.

The Brutalist 2024
An insanely sensational film. Very great acting, especially by Brody. It was such an amazing experience being able to see The Brutalist in 70mm. There are so many scenes and shots that look extraordinary and beautiful! There are some brilliant uses of lighting as well that make certain scenes powerful. The Monkey 2025
Kind of disappointing since I was expecting more but that’s on me! Deaths were fun and gory but the whole film kind of gets stale after the first half. Love the monkey though.

Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces 2014
Really good deleted and extended scenes! It makes sense why they were cut from the film as it’s supposed to focus more on Laura’s story, but it’s still such a treat seeing how characters interacted before the original run started. Twin Peaks forever!!!

In the Mood for Love 2000
At this point just shoot me!!! Beautiful cinematography and stunning visuals. Elusive soundtrack too. You can feel the desire overflowing as the film goes. It’s amazing how you can have such a poignant romance and not have any form of outright physical intimacy; this just further enhanced the feelings of love!!!

Blue Velvet 1986
Blue Velvet is an intense fever dream its whole run time. This is David Lynch’s speciality and seeing it in action is always so mesmerizing. The dreamlike quality is furthermore enhanced by the beautiful colors and cinematography too! There’s some pretty eccentric characters which makes the story more compelling. The iconic blue velvet opening credits are also fantastic.
It’s true what they say: you never forget your first David Lynch film.
