What a fantastically paced comedy movie.  Take a little bit to get going (though there are still plenty of jokes), but once the plot starts moving there is really no fluff or filler.  Iconic lines, great side characters, some genuine emotion, & one of the most cathartic endings with the goofy goober song on the guitar freeing everyone.

Haven’t seen it in probably 15 years but I still remembered just about every single joke, line, & story beat.  But I still fucking loved every second.

Watched as a great double feature immediately following a viewing of How to Train your Dragon 1.  Great night.

Matthew Broderick is fantastically milquetoast as the human embodiment of what a “straight man” character is.  This was a necessity due to the just indescribably great performance by Jim Carrey.

This movie was destined to be a failure from the second that narcissistic little bitchy victim mentality Robbie Williams insisted on playing himself despite the fact he’s 50 years old.  Just let some young hot actor do it, if he simply stepped aside there would be no need for any of this dumbass monkey shit.

I exaggerate for sure, but seriously I can’t get over how this entire movie was framed around a man who constantly played the victim card…

I feel like I would be doing this film a disservice or oversimplifying it if I tried to describe all the things I love & all the ways it impacted me with just a few words.  This movie needs to be watched to truly be appreciated & enjoyed.  Also does well if you listen to pet sounds right after.

Brian Wilson is one of my favorite artists in history, & this movie made me more emotional in more ways than possibly any work…
