There are good Godzilla films, and there are good films with Godzilla in them. Godzilla Minus One is one of those latter movies.

Just when you thought that Godzilla might be getting a little worse for wear after 70 years of savaging the silver screen, he comes back as the most effective anti-war metaphor I’ve seen yet.

But Godzilla Minus One is not all horror. It imparts a powerful message: if you’re alive, you’re meant to be here. So, live.

More importantly, live and go see this movie.

Long live the King of the Monsters!

Some of the best animated comedy from some of the best to ever do it. A wonderful ride that brings 20 years of hilariously broken people back for one last adventure that feels climactic but also invigorating.

I do wish some characters got a bit more screen time, but I think this movie restates the themes of the series in a fantastic way.

    Go Team Venture!

I didn't know anything about Unforgiven when I decided to give it a watch last week and boy am I glad about that because it's one of the best Westerns I've ever seen. As far as deconstructions go, this film annihilates any romantic dreams of Western living so thoroughly, it's almost funny. It would be funny if it weren't so darn tragic.

Unforgiven is (apparently) a relatively historically accurate film that takes aim (ha) at the types of characters common…
