A visually inspired production with an engaging premise; regrettably squandered by subpar performances and a rushed, incoherent narrative. Love Lies Bleeding had real promise that is ultimately left unfulfilled.

Killers of the Flower Moon 2023
Poignantly written, impeccably acted, and ferociously long.
As a concept Killers of the Flower Moon is immaculate. As a piece of entertainment, its a slog. The film feels like a bloated directors cut of a much shorter and more tightly paced theatrical release. Perhaps this story would have been better told as a mini-series? There are numerous scenes that could certainly have benefited from a trimming or even outright removal. Unfortunately, Scorcese's latest epic is obnoxiously protracted and was, despite its [many] conceptual qualities, a chore to sit through.

Knives Out 2019
Knives Out is by no means a bad film, just one I never intend to watch again. This is because within the premise of most whodunnits lies the genres greatest flaw. If the centre of intrigue is the mystery, once that mystery is revealed - what is there to make me want to re-experience that story again.
