  vetrimaaran loses grip over his storytelling and presents a tiring and incoherent action drama. felt like watching a politics class rather than a film which tells a story. none of the characters were written well and there wasn’t a single standout scene. the politics was powerful but the film didn’t deliver the intended impact. can’t believe a vetrimaaran film is filled with scenes with no setups and payoffs. actors were not given the space to perform and scenes were not given the space to breathe. the politics in vetrimaaran’s head took over his filmmaking sensibilities this time. highly disappointing, a huge downgrade from it’s predecessor!

  a solid attempt in making a genre film featuring a big star. the film stays mostly true to its genre and does not rely on loud elevations. AK completely gives in to the direction’s vision, really loved watching him after a long while. Ani’s best work in the recent times and he just blasted with pathikuchi. the film does take a few convenient writing choices and not all the twists and turns make the necessary impact. it was overlong and should have had a runtime less then 2 hours. nevertheless, the film was mostly engaging, backed up by terrific action sequences and strong technical work.
