God, where do I even begin? This is easily the most poignant movie of 2022 I’ve seen so far. An extremely slow viewing that doesn’t seem to lead anywhere, until it nears its climax and all you can do is weep. All the little expressions of pensive dejection on Paul Mescal’s seemingly joyful face when he’s with his 11 year old daughter, the subtle signs of an unending sadness and loneliness are depicted in beautifully shot moments that are interspersed…
