I should probably wait until I’ve seen it again before I write this but I don’t think I need to. I already love this movie and consider it a big success because Anderson actually toned it down a little bit, without sacrificing the vital.
I loved the French Dispatch, but I felt that Anderson tested the limits or remoteness by splitting it into three stories, however necessary. Asteroid City, however, seems more intimate, but pulls the rug out…
Absolutely devastating. Though this is a BBC movie, as of seeing it my relationship with high impact cinema is conflicted. It might be one of my new favorite films, but I may never watch it again for how beautifully upsetting it was. Days of being upset, still upset. Absolutely not for the faint of heart. It may destroy you!
