The Girl in the Pool 2024
This is really crap.
The premise and set-up is sort of okay and there is some early tension.
But.
Everybody is unlikeable.
The behaviour of the people makes next to no sense.
The stupidest man in existence keeps claims “ I’m going to fix this” as if we are going to believe him.
The Sesame Street lesson coda is nauseating.

I have an illogical love for this film.
The story is terrible. The acting inconsistent. The songs are mainly shoe-horned in and average, if I’m being kind. ( And the co-star is a convicted sex pest).
But for some reason it warms my heart and I love it!

This is a near perfect, low budget horror movie that makes very few compromises,
The Director clearly loves and understands the genre. The filming, editing and sound design create oodles of tension and a few good jumps scares.
Somebody needs to gives this man a budget and some resources and just set him loose to create.

OMG this is a fucking terrible film.
If you start it and think the portentous opening music is a little much then believe in yourself and switch it off.
The script is terrible, the special effects are below low rent, the plot nonsensical and the acting risible.
Quite good fun with a G&T but don’t let anybody know that I said that. This is not even so bad it is bad so don’t ask me to explain how we enjoyed it.
