Lady Bird’s mother is jealous of her daughter’s potential and conceals the best version of herself due to a fear of judgement and a deep seeded intrusive thought that her daughter might be better than her. I think that young people should be given space to be creative and inspired so that they can learn and grow. Lady Bird should not have to apologize for wanting that too.
