I'd always seen posters and merchandises of this film but never got the chance to actually watch it until now (tq netflix).
Straight off the bat, the animations and attention to every little detail had me hooked from start to end. I am mesmerised by how Miyazaki built the world of Spirited Away - not just animation-wise but how he incorporated folklores from various cultures and religions, and even his own experiences to create this piece. Overall, one of the more mind-boggling films I've watched thus far. A genuine masterpiece - the attention to detail in every frame, music, emotions being conveyed through the actions and expressions of characters and even the concept of "time", which in this case, is realistically speaking, impossible. But this films explores the unreal - switching bodies with someone without really "existing" together. It was confusing at some points, having to differentiate who is in whose body, but a genius piece by Makato Shinkai.
