This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Firstly, those two rape scenes are incredibly disturbing and really served no meaningful or well-explored purpose in the film. I could say more, but I’ll leave it there.
This film is trying to do too much and yet with nearly 2.5 hours doesn’t manage to pull it off well. Dialogue leaves much to be desired, character development is lacking, and the main romance seems to suddenly appear and is not believable.
Themes of societal unrest, racial tension, and police violence…
