This film replays in my head. I read the book next to a pool in Corfu, Greece. The book was written in a past perspective and this was effectively portrayed in the film. A recount of a summer of love. I enjoyed the display of a cultured household. All members being well spoken in English, French, and Italian. Right oh my god one of my favourite films. It perfectly describes the effect addiction plays on a normal family. Steve Carell, who plays David Sheff, deserves an Oscar. Steve portrays a supportive yet struggling father of an addict beautifully. He’s determined to learn why his son feels so reliant on crystal meth and how he can help him overcome his addiction.
