"I was so scared that night. I just needed to not be alone."
😭
Women. Have. The. Right. To. Be. Angry.
Also, they have every reason to be.
I really, really felt that documentary. All of the hurt, the injustice, the disgusting paternalism. At one point, Sinéad says "At that time, women weren't allowed to be angry" - but in some ways, they still aren't. How do men still feel entitled to decide over women's bodies, their lives? And why the hell does the Catholic Church as an institution still exist, with their antiquated hierarchy and their cover-up culture? In fact, I am really angry right now.
Well, that was quite hard to watch. You can physically feel the suffering, the futility, the despair. Great cast, well-made, not too much epicness. Some smaller weaknesses toward the end. And the pro-german angle made me a bit uneasy tbh.
PS: This may be totally inappropriate and surely is a terrible transition but Albrecht Schuch putting his hands down his underwear to keep them warm deserves a sequel
