The Green Mile 1999
Engaging story development. Self contained within original characters and locality. Brings up questions about how the supernatural ought to fit within the real world at large. Frame narrative seemed out of place until the very end, where the pay off was great. Lots of “dark night of the soul” moments and could be a potentially good take on the prison enslavement idea, particularly in the context of the depression era south. Dialects were fun. I’m very glad Mr. Jingles is safe. Emotionally taxing movie.

Do Revenge 2022
Gets 75% there with the entertaining twists and catharsis of seeing people get their revenge. 25% missing is character relatability and believability of their actions, which make for an intriguing watch that kept us interested but kept it from being satisfying by the end.
