Nerded out over this. I kinda don’t like that Lucy Gray’s whole character is that she’s different from the rest of The Poors and it gets some evil elitist asshole to fall in love with her, but her character is still compelling in her own way. Seeing Snow’s devolvement into the Snow we know was very interesting, I was told the book conveys it mostly through internal monologue but the actor did a great job showing not telling. Not my favorite Hunger Games movie (second to last before the first one) but it’s cool that they made it.

So funny, I laughed so much. The dialogue is really smart and the themes are pretty wholesome even though its about misogyny. Cute aesthetics and fun actors. It’s just not necessarily my taste but I love it for people whose it is.

gandalf didn’t smoke any weed or tell any jokes in this one otherwise it would be 5 stars

a thrilling romp. christian bale was so good in this. the dialogue is SO witty and scathingly self aware, and coupled with the violence (both shown and implied), it can make your toes curl but also make you… think? don’t want to be the person who says “I think this says a lot about society” but damn, setting it in reagans america was perfect. those guys would be riffing about biden the exact same way though.
