  Many of Kurosawa’s films have tragedy. But most often the tragedy is not i vain. Something is accomplished in spite of the loss. This film crushes you with the futility of resistance under corporate greed.

  He’s just a weird little guy

  Most problems would be fixed with a longer runtime. Like more of Josephine and her as a person and more of how France changed and the effects of Napoleon’s rule.

  It does a neat job of making fun of Napoleon and Joaquin phoenix was perfect casting. Surprisingly many funny moments.
