it’s hard to know what to say. there is of course a lot of disagreement about what the “right” way to portray something so real and horrific as the holocaust. i don’t think there is a good answer. and while i don’t think the zone of interest introduces incredibly new ways of thinking about shoah i do think it shows a slightly different angle. it asks of us what gardens we tend to as we are shielded by the wall. this movie is about the holocaust and it is about right now.
