  Killers of the Flower Moon 2023

  This movie was a hard watch, and I’m not its number one fan, but I did enjoy myself. It needed to be a hard watch, I think, to do the gravity of this story justice. My biggest complaint is its length. No movie, in my not-so-humble-opinion, should be three hours long. Still, the pacing could’ve been worse. It could’ve been a lot worse. Many 3 hour movies of Christmas past have been worse.

  Dune 2021

  It was fine. Most “meh” movie I’ve seen in a while. Cool visuals. Bland protagonist. On-the-nose storytelling. Bonus points for the badass setting and the really awesome repeated circle shapes in the environment. Part One feels like 2+ hours of sequel bait.

  I have so much to say about this wonderful movie, so I’ll probably come back to add when I’m feeling less lazy.

  My only criticism is the pacing. It wasn’t awful, and it certainly didn’t ruin my enjoyment. There were just a few instances where I felt that the jumping around killed some of the momentum that had built up from the previous scene. It left me feeling mildly disoriented a couple times.
