In the novel Killer’s of the Flower Moon by David Grann the story is structured with the the trappings of True Crime. From the beginning framed as a beguiling mystery, with many of those revealed to be perpetrators of genocide initially depicted as bit players in the background. The book, while a highly interesting account of a genocide of the Osage in the early 20th century, is primarily interested in showing how that genocide shaped US institutions and was forgotten…

Phantom Thread 2017
Phantom Thread was iconic on arrival. It has everything going for it. Interesting characters, snappy dialogue, flawless acting, the best soundtrack in recent memory, not to mention that it is, simply put, extremely odd. The film will be memorable to anyone that watches it due to the last ten minutes that escalate things in a way that you either love or loathe. As for myself, I distinctly remember grinning ear to ear the second Reynolds starts chewing.

Better Man 2024
Kitschy but full of so much inventive filmmaking that it’s hard to deny it has something to it. The Regent Street rendition of Rock DJ is perfect kino.
Very funny that Take That had a jukebox musical last year which I (and probably most people) only discovered existed due to the Anora soundtrack
