  the scene where they are on opposite sides of the gate pushing it shut, and the shot goes back and forth between them looking at each other as it closes—i almost puked because it was so good

  just crushing. it’s hard not to take this film as a death sentence. do we ever recover from the guilt of having killed our parents by being born? i feel like i’ve been slowly cut up and left to dry in the (beautifully color graded) turkish sun. had me in tears even long after the credits >_<
