The Cat Returns 2002
This companion piece to "Whisper of the Heart" is a cute little adventure movie.
Its short runtime leads to a couple of weird Deus-Ex-Machina moments towards the end as there seemed to be not enough runtime to properly flesh out all the set pieces near the climax and seed solutions to their problems in advance.
But the short runtime is also an asset because it leaves no time for the movie to drag
To me it was a very tightly narrated fairytale with nice pictures that lifted my spirits despite some unsatisfying plot contrivances

Mean Girls 2004
Made me think of Heathers a lot, which is nice. Wasn't as good as Heathers, tho.
But it's got a couple of really funny, well-timed slapstick moments and an overall more hopeful, less cynical outlook on a similar source material as Heathers so I think there is definitely value in watching both (and watching one if you already like the other)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day 1991
More stylish, more convincing and grander in scope - this movie's reputation of exceeding the original Terminator is well-deserved.
I would not recommend skipping the first one, though, because a lot of the impact of the first half of T2 for me relied on having seen T1.The cheesiness and the one-liners that were added to the franchise in this installment are a matter of taste, for sure, but I really liked the direction and enjoyed it a lot.
