I had tickets to see this in Annecy 2024 but went boating instead (how apt). After trying to watch it ever since, I finally got my chance at the Watershed tonight. I might be abandoning my Stopmotion tribe here but Flow was so deserving of that Oscar.
I wasn’t sure if I’d find it a little boring, my knowledge of the plot was “there’s a cat, and a flood” and…
I was hoping after the first few minutes that I’d discovered another uncut gems but this time staring a grandmother from Chinatown. Alas it was not, but it was still a fun film!
Also it turns out I did NOT in fact cancel my MUBI subscription like I thought I had…so I’m going to try and see everything still on my watchlist, to try to make the most of spending cash I don’t really have
He’s turned the weans against us!
I’m so glad it lived up to the hype, felt genuinely a bit surreal watching new W&G.
