Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood 2019
Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood is Tarantino's Sunset Boulevard. It is his love-letter to Tinseltown in the 1960s, and with that comes all of the obsessive idiosyncracies one might expect from the director of Pulp Fiction.
Everything is very deliberate, from the radio ad for the Illustrated Man to Nebraska Jim's director being Sergio Corbucci, Tarantino has picked out each reference knowing the value that comes with them.

Dreams 1990
Though perhaps not so strong on this viewing, Dreams is still a stirring piece of work. The Peach Blossom segment still made me cry without really being able to explain why.
I felt more of the film's age this time, or maybe more its budget. For a product of the '90s I think I felt some of the constraints of the Japanese film industry at the time. The Blizzard sequence sticking out as a particularly studio based affair.
