The Visit 2015
The aspect of calling out specific screenwriting techniques prior to incorporating them into the film is a refreshing component of this found-footage-esque film. The characters and plot are well-developed until the third act, at which point it feels as if what has been developed crumples into simplicity. However, the epilogue makes up for some of this regression into simplicity by showing us how entirely hopeless the plot was from the onset and solidifying the tragedy of both the story and the family.
