I do really like Raymond Carver so was excited for this movie. His writing focuses on middle-class America. This movie has a lot of nice shots of "Slim Aarons for the Poor Man" I say endearingly, and of 60/70's America too. Where it loses me is the length and connectivity. You can tell it is multiple stories stitched together and it feels like they could have added or dropped half the film and it wouldn't have really made a difference it's mainly just vibes.
I laughed, I cried, I sweat, I danced. Love how it shows how random life can be, but also how we must make meaning and narratives to make sense. Some violence if that bugs you.
