overall fun-ish, I just think fennell takes herself a bit too seriously at times here and it was not the gag that i was anticipating. run time is much too long, very on the nose to reference material and ultimately pointless, which would be fine if the campy tone of the final scene was matched throughout, but instead she points in so many politicized directions to throw us off oliver’s scent that she cannot possibly follow through on commenting on them. barry is far and away the highlight as his characterization provides what the script cannot and captivates in doing so.

exploiting the elderly is a total #girlboss moment.
in all seriousness i have no idea what point this movie is trying to make because it tries to be so much at once. fuck men? fuck rich people? fuck marla? so much that can be called out about this script, not enough time. and no i don’t just dislike it because the main character is an unlikable woman. go watch gone girl.
