    Martha

    ★★★★

Martha Stewart is, has, and will always be an icon. As a member of Gen Z, I didn’t fully know the longevity and enormity of the empire she built over the course of her life. This documentary masterfully details that empire, as well as the trials and tribulations of the woman behind it. A phenomenal story and a phenomenal film.

  • Spencer

    Spencer

    ★★★½

Spencer is a brilliant film imagining one of Princess Diana’s final Christmas holidays. Kristen Stewart is perfect in this role, and the cinematography, costume design, and score are additional highlights. There isn’t too much of a plot, but that doesn’t take away from the overall goal of the film: to explore the Princess’ inner turmoil as her marriage began to unravel.

  • Thelma

    Thelma

    ★★★½

Definitely not the most creative plot, but if you’re looking for a short and sweet comedy… this is it. June Squibb is a remarkable actress and this was the perfect feature for her. Cheers to close grandmother-grandson relationships.

    His Three Daughters

    ★★★

His Three Daughters stars Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne - all of whom carry the film with their phenomenal acting. While the plot remains dull at points, the vibrant shots and raw emotion of the actors elevate the film to a higher level. Even though the ending leaves viewers with more questions than answers (and a somewhat unbelievable twist), the film provides valuable commentary on life, death, and the complexities of the human relationships we forge in between. Definitely worth a watch. (Bonus points for being set in NYC during winter).
