It’s only fitting that Coraline is my first review on Letterboxd. This film just has the perfect blend of whimsy and unease. I find myself watching it every Halloween since I was a kid.
Coraline displays what the pinnacle of meticulous stop-motion looked like in it’s era.
Not only does it captivate adult and youthful audiences, but the layered concepts make it digestible in so many ways.
For anyone that enjoy films with concepts of escapism and duality of choice, or the exploration of identity, I would heavily recommend Coraline.
Just recently watched it, and will probably revisit soon.
