  Fabulous feminist fun. I wish more films would use stylism like this one did, not only does it help to separate the Barbie world from the 'real' world but also allows you to be more easily swept up in the whimsy of the film, and songs, we need more movie musicals. This was an absolute breathe of fresh air and a model film. My two dings against this film would be that the film felt short and that the feminist message was a bit passé for me but some people definitely needed to hear it.

  A mere few minutes into the film I was struck by the pops of colour which make this a remarkably visually appealing film while not stylising it out of the realism. Well-paced, managing to neatly fit its story which takes place over many years.
