Gorgeous. Just absolutely fucking gorgeous. The visual style is wonderful, the score huge and epic, and the story just the most tender examination of parenthood, and the hopes and dreams that come with it, you could hope to find.

Great performances all the way around, and a big, beating heart that earns the inevitable sobs come the denouement. Genuinely moving and full of real jeopardy, it mirrors Watership Down in all the best ways, and it takes a special, special film to earn that kind of comparison.

Mad that it wasn't made by Pixar, innit.

Glorious. Just the most brilliant popcorn flick you could imagine. Ledger is superb, a genuinely magnetic screen presence who was very clearly destined for absolute greatness. It is such a shame he is no longer with us.

Ncuti is built for this. He's got the charm, the wit, the pathos. He's got every chance of becoming iconic, as a modern-day Doctor who is drenched in the current zeitgeist, and they did an exceptional job of introducing Millie Gibson's Ruby Sunday. There's an immediate connection with both characters, and it feels similar to when we first met David Tennant and Billie Piper.

There are some issues with the episode overall, as the main conflict feels a tad underbaked,…

Glen Powell oozes leading man charisma. Which is exactly why this doesn't work.

You can't cast him in this role - a forgettable schlub who lives alone with his cat - and expect people to just go along. He's got cheekbones that could draw blood for fuck's sake.

Also, for something so hyped, this is terribly dull. There's some charisma between the two leads but it's not funny enough and while the dialogue crackles, there's just precious little to grab…
