I’ve been listening to the delightful Lonely Island and Seth Myers podcast. The episodes are generally focused on the SNL digital shorts. They also dedicated two episodes to the making of Hot Rod. I cannot even begin to remember the last time I saw this.

I laughed so goddamn hard at everything in this. Every joke works so well. It’s one of the all time great comedy movies.

I mean it's like film school 101 to praise this movie. On the other hand this movie rules so hard. It's so great. Probably my favorite Akira Kurosawa movie? Toshiro Mifune is the coolest actor to ever have lived. Absolutely magnetism on celluloid.

I am noticing that 4:3 ratio black and white movies really capture my attention these days. Something about it really makes me focus up and lock in to the movie.
