"Ars longa, vita brevis"
Cinephile during break hours, which at one's 20s do not occur as frequently
One of the most noticeable art directions in the latest years. Moody, whimsy, mysterious. It hits all the right notes and preserves a satisfactory rhythm all throughout. Memorable and above all- beautiful.
Is it what the trailer advertised? Emotionally gory, mildly disgusting and morally controversial? For sure. Which doesn't mean it has a stellar plot or amazing directing at all. The rhythm is off, feels episodic and loose. But, in general, an interesting watch if you want something less than Babylon but more than your regualr woke film.
I could go on and on picking appart the logic and the tropes, but then again, this is not western cinema, so there is no point in judging it by western standards. Unforgettable soundtrack and quite the opposite of what I was expecting- overall positive experience :).
