Something really honest about this film. Easy to focus on the sexual aspects of it, but what shine through in the end was the realisation and maturing of the two main characters (Tenoch and Julio). The killing of David was brutal and very satisfying. Great ending and a fantastic story. Started off slow but that’s expected from 90s films. How monster films should be done. Digestible science and mostly powered by raw emotion and trauma as well as connections with the protagonist and other characters, all told through a flawless story. Godzilla (or Gojira) originated from Japanese cinema, so it’s only fair that they’ve made the BEST version of it that I’ve watched. Rightfully deserving of an Oscar for the VFX because the decimation of Ginza scene was just WILD.
