For Movie Date Night, my boyfriend (very kissably) opted for Beetlejuice!! The 1988 one, of course. I think what first and foremost made the movie a winner was the star cast. Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Alec Baldwin??? We were in for powerhouse performances!! And secondly, the campy, funky plot ♡~

    Tw: slasher, only women suffer

So this is a serial killer slasher. And it's supposed to be a cult classic but it was meh. Long short- Man goes on killing spree targeting women after being abused by his prostitute mom as a kid. I believe vampires are horrifying only in the aspect of how they affect the people stuck in the context of dealing with their pestilence. Not the flying, leaping, glowing eyes, glittering skin, bitemarks, being suited and sensual eroded the horror aspect of bloodsucking ages ago.

Nosferatu isn't titillating. It's 2 hours of discomfort. It is real and crawls close to home. It's not an agenda, it's greed. It's not poison, it's plague. Its not revelation, it's mass hysteria. A real…
