I actually just watched this on a plane while I child repeatedly kicked my seat and cried so that’s cool!!!!! Anyway, not as tight as some of Bong Joon Ho’s other projects but I really felt it - the acting is fantastic and there are scenes in this that are so affecting I cried on this airplane. Big big things to chew on.

I could rave about this movie for lines and lines and lines and paragraphs and paragraphs and paragraphs. A movie that uses Chicago so well. A movie that engages with so much history. A movie that is so well acted and scored and weaves in so many different elements. What is most arresting to me is the sound design, which just like literally stopped me in my tracks.
Got to see the restoration and a panel with Zeinabu irene Davis, Marc Arthur Chéry, John Earl Jelks, and Reginald R. Robinson. Top 10 movie theater experiences of my life.

DRIVER 2024
A little bit meandering, but cares about its subjects deeply in a way I think is so important. Made me so angry, but also shows the power of community in situations that are so imperfect. I loved the juxtaposition of the beauty of the landscapes outside.
Got to see this with a panel discussion largely of organizers after, loved it. Everyone should be doing something on behalf of workers rights.
