Heretic 2024
It’s a timely meditation on weaponizing religion as a means of control. That and Hugh Grant help forgive moments in the movie that feel unearned or even silly.
I’m mostly disappointed because it feels like it didn’t quite hit the nuance of what I hope to be its thesis: that it’s understandable and not necessarily a failing to trust someone, but that it’s also our responsibility to trust our guts and question more forcibly what we’re told.
