MadS 2024
After a second watch, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite films of the year. You'd think that the quality of the film would suffer a lot more due to being restricted to one take, but what they were able to pull off plot wise was pretty impressive. This was a fresh spin on zombies that I was delighted to see. The three main actors were also phenomenal. To be able to portray such an array of emotions in one go so flawlessly is truly impressive.

Terrifier 3 2024
After just completing a 2nd watch in theaters, I can confidently say this is my favorite in the franchise. I can also confidently say that this is now one of my favorite horror movies of all time. I don't think I've ever seen a movie that made me laugh just as much as it disturbed me. It's such a surreal experience, especially in a packed theater with a bunch of strangers.
This is a truly sinister and grotesque showcase of practical effects with a lot more to say than one would expect from a movie in this style.

I wanted to like this more than I did. The trailers had me really excited for a fun campy slasher but something about this movie just bored me, and it felt like it was taking itself a bit too seriously for what it is. It definitely had some pretty disturbing kills though.
