The Monkey 2025
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
That was a blast. My parents were in town and we took them to The Vista for their first viewing at a QT theater. It was a damn good time. To me, this was a comedy (albeit, dark) at its core and it delivered loads of guttural laughs. Amongst the absurdity and gore, there was an emotional throughline about life/death and familial bonds that ties it all together.

The Substance 2024
This was a sweet symphony of horror, satire and social critique.
Also the most fun I’ve had at the movies in a long time. That is despite the fact that I sat next to the world’s most annoying stranger. This dude was fist-pumping anytime Raffertie’s score hit a beat drop and cackled randomly. I’m already stressed out watching Demi Moore morph into a balding hunchback, I don’t need your unhinged jump scare of a laugh all up in my ear, sir! I guess it added to the experience…it was literal body horror sitting next to me.

Oooooofff. Idk, this almost makes me mad at how bad it is. It’s one of those, ‘it’s so bad it’s entertaining’ flicks. But, good for Josh Hartnett. I like seeing him on the big screen again.
Sidenote, that Kid Cudi (aka “The Thinker” lol) cameo is some of the wildest shit I’ve seen.
