It's more of a sequel to the novel, but it has a ton of homages to the original film. It pays tribute to but never feels like it's ripping off the source material and it doesn't feel like a cash grab. My only complaints are that I wish the villains were a little more fleshed out. They were terrifying, and I wanted to see more of them or learn more about them. They reminded me of the crew from near…

I finally watched high life and I liked it. The premise/story was great. The film was shot beautifully and the imagery is as much of a character as the ships crew. It also did a great job of setting mood. It's like a mixture of isolation, dread, sadness, and dreaminess. I had some major issues though. One of the most fun and most quotable movies ever made. It feels like you’re watching a night unfold in the 70s. All of the characters are so full of life; they feel like real people and the actor’s performances are so genuine. This is a film that never gets old. Every time I watch it, it feels like I’m spending time with some good friends. If you’re one of the few that hasn’t actually seen this, I can’t recommend it enough.

I loved this movie so much. I’m still ‘high’ on it, but it might be the best film I’ve seen this year. The way everything comes together at the end in terms of plot and character development for Dani was masterful. Florence Pugh is going to win awards some day. It’s also a movie that I want to see again. Everything is so intricate; from the characters, to the plot/cult itself, to the breathtaking set design, connecting all these things was almost like putting together a puzzle. Easily a 10/10, 5/5, A+. this is a movie that needs to be seen and discussed.
