A masterful retelling of some of the most inspiring yet tragic times in the history of the United States, the only thing that ways this movie down is the incredible amount of realism (not inherently a negative) prevents those faint of heart from rewatching this masterpiece and prevents parents from being able to show it to their children to inspire them. But don't let this detract from the films brilliance as David Oyelowo shines as Martin Luther King Jr. in one of the greatest historically based performances in quite a long time
