Carry-On 2024
I mean... sure?
Taron Egerton does his best to give a good performance given the script he was given. The same can be said for one of my favorite actors Jason Bateman.
BUT..... the film boils down to cheap action and TSA and Cop propaganda.
This is for sure a post 9/11 holiday movie.... and yes i said holiday movie because for some reason this movie needed to include Christmas to try and get in on the "Christmas action" space that Die Hard has occupied for so long...

Without a Paddle 2004
Honestly one of my favorite comedies from this era.
watch any comedy from 2000 to 2008 and a majority of the jokes will be outdated or downright racist, sexist, or homophobic while punching down.
This movie avoids all that. Its a fantastic comedy and while yes it is outdated at times it never feels like its punching down at anyone, but rather laughing with them.
If you haven't seen this before please give it a watch!

Civil War 2024
This movie is not about American civil war.
Its about the horrors of war journalism. That was very unexpected. I was looking forward to this movie but it exceeded all my expectations by not dragging on about the details of the war but rather focusing on the jobs of those who cover them.
Incredible performances from Dunst, Spaney, and Moura. As wells as incredible visuals, and score.
