I’m like 85% sure I saw John Turturro at the airport one time.

A lot of pleasant surprises from this experience. It’s still Bong’s trademark commentary, but far more satirical in nature which turned into some very funny and entertaining moments. I didn’t even know that Mark Ruffalo was in the cast, but the campiness of his performance (and those insane veneers) was such a great addition. Also with the production hell this movie went through, I was very pleased to have watched this tonight in a completely full theater. Eat shit Zaslav

Not being facetious when I say this should be heralded as an American Classic. Truly never been something quite like it.

The perfect story for Egger’s style. Expertly articulates the nightmare theme of the original into every facet of the film both narrative and craft. Lily Rose Depp absolutely killed it and I was really impressed with Hoult; the horror he conveys in the first act is skin crawling.
To Mr. Eggers, I want you to know that that was a BAD mustache. In fact, it’s a whole half star off the rating bad mustache, I go 5 stars without it. Some are calling it the most detrimental mustache in film history.

As someone who’s been engrossed in all things Dune for the last 6 months, it’s somewhat jarring to find the source of so much of the brilliance I’ve attributed solely to Herbert and Denis.
Seeing this composition of shots and hearing this score in a theater is now top of my film bucket list. The first 2 hours of this are absolutely beautiful, and incredibly engaging. I generally am very forgiving with runtimes, especially with an epic of this scale, but at nearly 4 hours the final 3rd undeniably drags.
I didn’t know camels could run like that
