The Brutalist 2024
The immense scale of this film cast a shadow over the minuscule story that made me wish for more in every department.
The first half really had me. I enjoyed the characters and was excited to explore the tortured artist that was Lazlo but instead I was faced with a monumental amount of disappointment. The characters stopped developing and fell back into stereotype so quickly making them unbelievable. The artsy story telling felt exhausting and unnecessary.
