    standing at 2.5 hours, I think that it’s a very strenuous and challenging watch— especially when you factor in the subject matter and a need for historical knowledge as well, and the film feels like an elaborate video essay. If u have that though its amazingggg 

    macro and micro historical narratives (I.e. the broader context of the Cold War) are very well interwoven throughout the story, but it’s also fundamentally people-driven, with the storytelling being done by figures from Khrushchev…

    Just an epic and ambitious piece of storytelling that pulls off a pretty satisfying conclusion despite an intimidating runtime of 3.5 hours (thought I was gonna fall asleep). 

    Corbet tries to cover massive ground, with themes such as the struggle of immigrant families, trauma, the ironic and perpetuated nature of the American Dream, and the obsessed artist. The architecture itself manages to stay center stage in the film and reflect these themes- even through the title itself
