well !!! it has its good stuff but it mostly fell flat for me. most of folk horror stories are told through a lot of symbolism and archetypes that use magical or paranormal elements to reflect real life, yet in this one i couldn't find any interesting parallels between the pit and the events happening to the characters or the abuse the cult endured....on that topic, the scenes where they portrayed said abuse were so brutal and bleak i was at the verge of a panic attack...especially the one with her mother that was incredibly hard to watch.
could've been reeaaally cool......

what a devastating day. lynch's art truly altered the trajectory of my life, and i don't say this lightly. his way of finding humanity in the surreal and otherworldly, his complex and beautifully written characters and his dreamlike storytelling. i don't think anyone will ever be able to replicate his essence, and he will always be remembered as a prodigy in his field. i can't find words to express how much twin peaks and the character of laura palmer moved…
