I was waiting for a new episode of Somebody Somewhere and Yellowjackets last night and watched this while waiting.
This is so good and I enjoyed the internal drama. Glenn Close was really good in this. Loved the exploration of what really makes a successful person a success.
This is the first movie I've watched this year. I really enjoyed the time period and characters, and of course the clothes.
This is mostly a happy movie even though bits are tinged with a little sadness like finding out about her husband after so long and the dude who basically saw her as beneath him. The ending cheered me up and had me in tears.
I do wish some of the theme could have been explored a little more deeply, but it wasn't necessary for me to enjoy it either.

After seeing the bad reviews, I was preparing for it to be bad and wouldn't have been surprised if it had been. Fortunately, I also don't take reviews very seriously. I mean I just did a whole X-Men movie marathon and many of the movies are not all that great. I don't flat out hate them either like a lot of people. So, there's that.

Wow! This is why I don't usually believe the reviews. Dark Phoenix is good. I'd say it's Logan's yin. The cast did excellent. Love, forgiveness, emotions, admitting wrongs, family. I loved it. I will write another review after some more time to think more on it. I'm typing this while sitting in the car talking about how a great ending this movie is to the X-Men movies.
