A bit jarring to rewatch with an adult brain, seeing all the formulaic and cheesy stuff, but let me tell you the adult part of the brain wasn't much on during this. I cannot and i wont even attempt to be objective about it, i wish i could log how many times i watched it as a child when mom wasn't home.

While i get the enjoyment people get from how unpredictable this movie is, unpredictability in itself isn't enough. I feel like there's absolutely no payoff for anything, so while the film can do weirder and weirder things, all of them will be met with a resounding "...okay", if there's no point to them. The first 40 minutes are genuinely great, but after that it became pretty flat.

This was RAW. I walked out of the cinema feeling like i was beat up.
This is an incredibly in your face movie. The lack of any subtlety was strong from the start, and while sometimes I think it was a bit too much, feeling like the movie thinks that we're stupid, generally I think it worked tovard it's favours. He got a gf, he's not literally me anymore.
With the obligatory out of the way, I find this movie fascinating with it's absolute emptyness. The story goes nowhere, I wasn't invested once throughout the runtime, and the musical parts, with the exception of one, feel completely weightless. This is nothing, that's going nowhere, and fails to make you feel anything at all. (Aside from the Harvey Dent thing, but don't even get me started on that one)
