  I think this would have been better with a linear narrative focussing on the two boys, and developing their relationships with their single parents. I felt the first half was quite weak, but found the second half much more gripping and I enjoyed seeing the story unfold from this perspective.

  Ryuichi Sakamoto's score was beautiful and moving without being manipulative.
