  At some point while watching this had a thought, I hate our current times portrayed through film. Its truly not interesting to me. We live in such a soulless and awful society that lacks substance and meaningful art feels rare. So in a way this film portrayed that really well. Just so boring and pointless.   The woman in row in front of me was writing a letterboxd review during at least the last 15 minutes of the movie. Paragraphs long, I’m sure it was scathing. This was easily one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

  Impossible for the movie to be bad when the songs in it are this good. Much like comedy, musicals are just different than other movies. Different scale, different type of pace.
