Inherent Vice 2014
On my first watch I was probably 3 months removed from reading the book and 16 yrs old.
This go round, the movie really stands up as a work of its own, at least now that I remember almost nothing of the book (probably as intended by the author)

You could bounce a quarter off this thing. Script is perfect. Cinematography is top 3. So many times the camera has the action within another framing device, binoculars, a rear view mirror, sunglasses, a window. You play detective and you find the clues. So much faith in his camera and in the audience. The reward is a totally engrossing 3 hour epic
